Upon completing the 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course at Aatm Yogashala, you will receive a certificate of completion. However, this certification does not qualify you as a registered yoga teacher. To register with Yoga Alliance, you must complete a minimum of 200 training hours.

If you are looking for a certification that allows you to teach yoga professionally, consider enrolling in our 200 Hour or 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training programs. These programs meet the Yoga Alliance standards and enable you to register as a certified yoga teacher (RYT 200/RYT 300).

Asanas (Multi-style Yoga Asana Practice)

Asanas are the physical postures in yoga that help build strength, flexibility, and balance. They are an essential part of any yoga practice and form the foundation of a yogic lifestyle. The training includes:

Sitting & Meditative Postures: Padmasana, Sukhasana, Vajrasana, Bhadrasana, Swastikasana.

Standing Postures: Tadasana, Trikonasana, Utkatasana, Veerbhadrasana I, II & III.

Balancing Postures: Natarajasana, Garudasana, Vrksasana, Eka Padasana, Bakasana.

Inverted Postures: Sirsasana, Sarvangasana, Viparita Karani, Halasana.

Twisting Postures: Ardha Matsyendrasana, Supta Udarakarshanasana, Meru Vakrasana.

Pranayama is the control of breath to enhance life energy (prana). It includes:

Natural Breathing, Abdominal Breathing, Thoracic Breathing, Yogic Breathing, Nadi Shodhana, Kapalabhati, Bhastrika, Bhramari, Shitali, Surya Bhedi, Chandra Bhedi.

Meditation is the practice of focusing the mind for relaxation, self-awareness, and spiritual growth. Types include Om Meditation, Mantra Chanting, Yoga Nidra, Trataka, Chakra Meditation, and Vipassana.

Mudra (Gestures) & Bandha (Locks)

Mudras are hand gestures used to control energy flow in the body, including Jnana Mudra, Chin Mudra, and Prana Mudra.

Bandhas are internal locks that redirect prana for higher awareness. These include Moola Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha, Jalandhara Bandha, and Maha Bandha.

Mantra Chanting (Shlokas, Sutras, Bhajan & Keertan)

Chanting mantras elevates spiritual energy and creates a positive atmosphere. Students learn traditional Vedic mantras and prayers such as Guru Stotram, Patanjali Prayer, and Shanti Mantra.

Yoga Philosophy, Anatomy & Physiology

Yoga philosophy covers its history, principles, and different paths. Anatomy lessons explain body structure and how yoga impacts muscles, joints, and internal organs.

Ayurveda (Nutrition & Diet)

Basics of Ayurveda, dietary principles, and lifestyle practices to support a yogic life.

Shatkarma/Kriya (Yogic Cleansing)

Shatkarma involves cleansing techniques for physical and mental purification. These include Neti (nasal cleansing), Trataka (eye cleansing), Kapalbhati (lung cleansing), Dhauti (digestive cleansing), Nauli (abdominal massage), and Basti (colon cleansing).

Teaching Methodology (Teaching Practice, Student's Practicum, & Ethics)

Focus on how to teach yoga effectively, including class structure, communication skills, and ethics of yoga teaching.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring with myself?

Most of the general items you will need during your stay in India (or their equivalent) can be easily found in the nearby shops around the corner from our yoga school. What we suggest you remember to bring is any specialty item that you can't live without, like a specific personal care item or favorite snack from your country.

Is it possible to make any changes about the booking after I made it?

In case of any personal issues, we are able to delay the dates of your course. The advance of the course fees are non-refundable, only in the case of emergency students can join us on other schedules.

Which kind of visa do I need to apply for?

First, students should apply for a tourist visa as it is easy and granted from the Indian embassy in a short period of time, the purpose of visiting India should be yoga retreats or Ayurveda retreats. Students may give our school address as well as a contact number for an Indian reference. Contact details for the Indian embassy in your country can be found. In general order, the visa expiry date is counted from the day visa is issued. Please verify it with the concerned embassy. Try to apply for your visa at least 2 to 3 weeks before your travel date.

Weather in Rishikesh & recommended clothing

December-January-February is the coldest month, the temperature gets down to 15-26 C, and we do not provide room heaters, so if you are doing the course during December-early March we recommend you to bring warm clothes.
April to August - hot & rainy weather - light cotton clothes are recommended, as the temperature can rise up to 40 degrees.
September is the end of the rainy season. Still, if you have a plan to come during these months umbrella/raincoats are recommended.
October to March - weather in Rishikesh varies from pleasant to cold and woolen clothes, jackets, etc. are recommended. The temperature is averagely around 32-33 C.

How can I become a certified yoga teacher or yoga instructor?

To become a certified yoga teacher, you must successfully complete a yoga teacher training course and show competence in your ability to teach a yoga class. Find out what the suggested minimum requirements for yoga teachers are at www.yogaalliance.org.The yoga alliance page also lists the training programs and yoga schools that meet their minimum standards.

Which airport should I choose to fly to?

First you should take a flight Delhi International Airport. The closest and most convenient airport for you is to fly to Dehraun Aiport. If you are visiting India for the first time then it is better for you to take a flight to Dehradun (city nearby), and from Dehradun is a 30 min drive, so you save a hustle.

Is it safe to trevel alone to Rishikesh?

Yes, it is very much safe to travel alone to Rishikesh, many tourists do it. It might be a difficult task to travel by local buses or trains sometimes if you are never been to India before, as it's very different from other parts of the world.

I am vegan. Does the food you are serving is suitable for vegans?

Food served at our center is 100% vegetarian, not vegan. You will need to inform us prior to your arrival so our chef can prepare special food for you.

Will language be my barrier as English is not my first language?

No, all students are coming from different parts of the world, so English is most likely the second language they spoke. The courses are very easy to understand and teachers will help you with anything.

Is your school registered with Yoga Alliance?

Yes, Our School (RYS 200, 300, 500) is a registered yoga school with Yoga Alliance (USA) for providing internationally recognized yoga teacher training certifications in India. All our yoga teacher training graduates can register themselves online at the Yoga Alliance® website.
